Generate your first Notes with Meetical AI

In the previous quickstart, you created a Project Kick-Off meeting page in Confluence.

In this quickstart, you will learn how to use Meetical AI to capture the meeting and generate a summary, decisions, and action items directly into the Confluence page.

Before you start

  • You already have a meeting page created with Meetical.

  • The calendar event has a video meeting link, for example, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.

  • Meetical AI is available for your site, or beta access is enabled.

  • Inform participants that an AI meeting assistant may join, listen, and generate notes.

1. Open the meeting page or calendar event

  1. Open the Project Kick-Off event in your Meetical Calendar.

  2. Click AI Meeting Notes.

2. Let Meetical AI join the meeting

  1. Start the meeting as usual.

  2. Invite the Meetical AI bot to the meeting. Meetical AI joins like a regular participant.

  3. Discuss the project and hold your regular meeting.

Meetical Bot joins the meeting

The bot automatically joins the meeting and sends a message in the chat with a direct link to the corresponding notes page.

Check the live-status of the bot

You’ll see the bot’s status as “In call recording". Once the online meeting ends, the bot will leave automatically. You can also remove the bot at any time and transcribe the meeting to generate your notes.

3. Add the generated notes to Confluence

  1. After the meeting, open Meetical Calendar again. When the bot has finished processing the meeting, you can add the notes to your Confluence page draft.

  2. Click Add Notes to Draft Page.

  3. Open the draft page to review your notes and publish them.

Meetical adds the generated notes to a draft of the connected Confluence page, so you can review them before publishing.

You can configure the language and the desired template of the generated notes in the advanced options. Check out a more detailed guide here Notetaker and AI Assistant for Confluence & Jira.

Well done! You created your first AI Meeting Notes with Meetical AI.

Tips for better AI notes

  • Publish a clear agenda on the Confluence page and walk through it at the start of the meeting. (Note: current page content is not included in Meetical’s context yet).

  • Say decisions, actions and owners out loud during the meeting.

  • Mention the bot as “Meetical Bot” to make sure certain actions, decisions, or insights are included in your notes; especially helpful in longer meetings or complex discussions,

  • Review AI output before publishing the page and using the notes it as the official meeting minutes.

If you notice any inaccurate AI notes, please reach out to support. We can enable AI debug mode and investigate the issue. Custom AI templates, an organization-wide glossary, and improved context options are also on the roadmap.
